Plain whipped cream will usually melt and lose its form quickly if it is not stabilised. It is easy to make stabilised whipped cream. Huse add a small amount of liquid (melted) gelatin to the cream prior to whipping it. Stabilised whipped cream will last up to three days in the fridge and will not melt at room temperature. This makes is perfect for use as whipped cream frosting on cakes.
How do you melt gelatin?
Sprinkle your gelatin over the water and let dissolve for 5 minutes. Heat the gelatin for 5 to 10 seconds in the microwave.
